SUBJECT: Connecticut's Most Famous Nolle Prosequi Case

Attached you will find a copy of an article by Jack Zeldes that appeared in the December 1994 issue of the Connecticut Bar Journal. It deals with a state murder prosecution in 1924 and the decision by State's Attorney Homer S. Cummings to 'nol pros' the case despite what appeared to be overwhelming evidence of guilt of the defendant. Homer Cummings later served as Attorney General of the United States from 1934 to 1939.
