Zubulake’s e-Discovery: The Untold Story of My Quest for Justice is a nonfiction novel written by the plaintiff at the center of the often-cited Zubalake opinions. Zubalake v. UBS Warburg ultimately set forth parties’ and counsels’ obligations to preserve and produce electronic information in the course of litigation. If you enjoy learning about the law while reading a book, Zubulake’s e-Discovery is a must read.

Laura Zubulake was an investment banker for UBS, Europe's largest bank, working in the United States. She was responsible for the sale of Asian securities to institutional investors and was very successful. In 2001, her new manager allegedly mistreated her by basically shunning her. Shortly after, she filed a sex discrimination claim with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Within months, she was terminated by UBS for not being a team player.
