The 5th Circuit Court ruled that Texas' law requiring a woman to have a sonogram of her fetus before having an abortion "falls well within the state's authority to regulate abortions and require informed consent from patients before they undergo an abortion procedure." The law's author, Senator Dan Patrick, told the American-Statesman the ruling was "a victory for women's health and for the protection of the unborn."
