§ 6.7.1 This Article's Scope. This article describes the law in Arizona regarding negligent hiring and supervision, and the factors used in determining an employer's duty to customers and other third parties. The law applies to an employer who negligently hires, as well as to one who negligently supervises an employee under circumstances where the employer knows or should have known that the employee was otherwise incompetent or unfit for the job so as to create a danger of harm or injury to third persons.
