§ 34.2.2 Overview of the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions. The department is administered and its official actions are taken by the superintendent. A.R.S. § 6-111. The department maintains a website at “www.azdfi.gov” where the public can access information concerning the department, its licensees, and the statutes, rules, and regulations pertaining to and enforced by the department. The department’s office is located at 2910 North 44th Street, Suite 310, Phoenix, Arizona 85018.

The department is charged with the execution of the laws of Arizona relating to financial institutions and enterprises. A.R.S. § 6-110; A.R.S. § 6-101(6), (8). “Financial institutions” include:

· state banks, A.R.S. §§ 6-181 to 6-395.15; A.A.C. R20-4-201 to 215;

· trust companies, A.R.S. §§ 6-851 to 6-882; A.A.C. R20-4-801 to 1816;

· state chartered savings and loan associations, A.R.S. §§ 6-401 to 6-497; A.A.C. R20-4-301 to 330;

· state chartered credit unions, A.R.S. §§ 6-501 to 6-595; A.A.C. R20-4-401;

· consumer lenders, A.R.S. §§ 6-601 to 6-638; and

· international banking facilities and financial institution holding companies under the jurisdiction of the department, A.R.S. §§ 6-1101 to 6-6113.

“Enterprises” include:

· debt management companies, A.R.S. §§ 6-701 to 6-716; A.A.C. R20-4-601 to 620;
