$30M investment to bring housing manufacturer to Oconee County.

A modular home manufacturer is setting up shop in Oconee County's city of Westminster.

Impact Housing Group, a builder of modular design housing, said through the state Commerce Department that it will establish new operations with a $30 million investment that will create 215 new jobs over the next five years.

Impact Housing Group is an integrated modular housing company that provides solutions for more affordable homes that are assembled off-site in a controlled environment, according to a news release, that leads to faster delivery. President and CEO Cecil Phillips says his company's products provide solutions to affordable housing challenges.

"As more and more communities are challenged by the lack of essential housing, our new manufacturing facility in Westminster will provide quality-engineered, modern, modular housing solutions at a more affordable price," Phillips said in the release. "Our homes will positively impact the quality of life and economic growth of people and their communities for a long time to come."
