A. General Definitions
The definition of disability applicable to the employment provisions of Title I of the ADA also applies to the other titles in the statute, as well as the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. In 2008, in response to several Supreme Court decisions which severely limited the application of the ADA by taking a very restrictive view of the ADA definition of disability,1 Congress enacted the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 to restore its intended interpretation of the definition.
