§ 25.6.4 Superior Court Processing of Special Action Proceedings.The RPSA provide substantial flexibility as to the manner and method of handling special actions, as the objective to be achieved is timely justice. RPSA 4(c) state bar comm. note. The superior court may modify the usual time periods within which a special action must be served and answered. It also may expedite hearings on the special action, order a party or other persons to submit any records to the court that may bear on its disposition of the special action, and establish special discovery procedures. RPSA 4(c)-(e). If a party desires such procedural flexibility, it may file a motion with the court or request a conference with the assigned judge, with notice to opposing counsel. See Form 25:3.
