25.1 INTRODUCTION

This chapter provides an overview of the law involving construction defects, sick building syndrome, toxic mold, and other building-related illnesses and claims. Often these types of claims involve both tort claims for personal injuries and property damage—as well as contract claims for economic loss damages. Construction defect claims can arise out of new residential homes, apartments, condominiums, or other commercial office buildings.
