1. Motion to Set Aside Verdict

Although written post-trial motions are not always necessary or appropriate, the losing party should always make an oral motion to set aside the verdict immediately after it is rendered. Likewise, if an otherwise victorious party obtains only partial relief or what he or she believes to be inadequate relief, such party should orally move to set aside the verdict to the extent it denies the requested relief.
