§ 21.3.1 Presiding Judge.

A presiding judge in each county exercises general administrative supervision over the court and its judges, and establishes appropriate policies for the trial courts in the county. Ariz. Const. art. 6, § 11. The supreme court appoints every presiding judge, normally for a term of 5 years. The presiding judge is the chief judicial executive officer of the county superior court, and exercises administrative supervision over the superior court, the clerk of the court, justice courts, and municipal courts.
