Ryann Peyton Visits the Douglas Elbert County Bar Association

CBA President Ryann Peyton recently visited the Douglas Elbert County Bar Association to meet with DEBA members and present a CLE on professional identity. The visit also featured an update from Metro Volunteer Lawyers and a surprise chocolate pinata! Fun fact: DEBA was Peyton's initial local bar when they began practicing 15 years ago.

Biden Nominates Judge Kato Crews for Federal Judgeship

The CBA and CBA-CLE congratulate Board of Directors member US Magistrate Judge Kato Crews on his nomination by President Biden to the U S District Court for the District of Colorado as a district court judge. We are honored by Judge Crews's membership on the CBA-CLE Board and grateful for his many years of service to the Colorado legal community.

Colorado Legal Services Welcomes Matt Baca as New Executive Director

Matt Baca recently assumed the role of executive director of Colorado Legal Services, Colorado's statewide nonprofit legal aid program. Baca grew up in Colorado and attended the University of Colorado-Boulder before graduating from New York University School of Law, where he was a Root-Tilden-Kern Scholar and simultaneously earned a master's in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School. He is a board member of the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association and a commissioner on the Colorado Access to Justice Commission. Baca succeeds longtime executive director Jon Asher, who served in that role for over 40 years.

John T. Lee Recognized with 2022 Davis Award

John T. Lee was presented the 2022 Richard Marden Davis Award on February 2 at a dinner in his honor.
