Boulder County Bar Recognizes Outstanding Member Achievement

The Boulder County Bar Association (BCBA) hosted its annual meeting and reception on June 5 at Folsom Field. Hon. Roxanne Bailin, who retired as Chief Judge of the Twentieth Judicial District (J.D.) bench on August 31, was among those honored for outstanding contributions to the BCBA. Also recognized during the event were James Buchanan, who was acknowledged posthumously with the Award of Merit, and Brandy Rothman, who was presented the Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year Award.

CBA President Commences Whirlwind Presidential Tour

In July, Judge Terry Ruckriegle began the CBA president’s annual tradition of traveling the state to meet with members of bar associations. During each visit, Ruckriegle dined and chatted with members about issues affecting their practice, and led a CLE presentation entitled "A Bench View of Survival in the Legal Profession."

Ruckriegle kicked off his presidential tour with a lunchtime visit to the Northwest Colorado Bar Association. The event was held at the Bud Werner Memorial Library in Steamboat Springs.

Next up was the Ninth J.D. Bar Association, which held its presidential visit in conjunction with its summer social at the Rivers Restaurant in Glenwood Springs. Guests enjoyed drinks and appetizers on the outdoor patio before the CLE presentation. Among attendees was Arnold (Arnie) Mordkin, who was recognized for fifty years of CBA membership.

The Pitkin County Bar Association hosted its president’s visit at the Little Nell Restaurant in Aspen. During the lunchtime event, Ruckriegle recognized two members for their fifty-year membership—Douglas Allen and Robert Grueter.
