Ponderings to Begin the New Year
by Wm. David Lytle

It is hard to believe another year has gone by and that 2008 is here. As Willy Wonka once said, "So much time and so little to do. . . . Strike that. Reverse it."(fn1) Our pace in the new year has picked right up where we left off in 2007 - nary missing a beat!

Gratitude to Local Bars

I extend thanks to the Boulder, Southern, and Southeastern Bar Associations for their hospitality during my visits in December. It is hard to imagine these good folks fitting in one more event during the rush of the holidays, but they did. We had great visits!

Your CBA Legislative Policy Committee will be meeting weekly not only to review proposals for legislation originating from the CBA sections and committees, but also to keep an eye on the general landscape of proposed legislation for matters of particular concern or interest to the CBA and our membership.

Michael Valdez, CBA Director of Legislative Services, heads up our staff in this area, with great assistance and support from Amy Redfern. Michael and Amy do a terrific job of keeping watch; however, if there is something in proposed legislation that catches your eye and that you believe the CBA should review, please contact Michael and let him know. Also, please don't hesitate to let Michael know what a great job he is doing! Contact him at mavaldez@cobar.org.
