Six initiatives were chosen by The Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation at Harvard Kennedy School as winners of the 2008 Innovations in American Government Awards. Each winner will receive $100,000 toward replication of its program.

The award-winning programs offer solutions to pressing challenges and enhance policy research. The Acquisition Fund of New York City provides non-profits and developers of affordable housing with faster access to equity and predevelopment capital, providing more readily available and affordable housing to disadvantaged residents. The Missouri Division of Youth Services rehabilitates juvenile delinquents, using a therapeutic group approach in small, homelike settings.
