The Lives and Contributions of Colorado Attorneys

James Burch died on January 12, 2006. He was 76. Burch graduated from Regis College and earned his J.D. degree from the University of Colorado Law School. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, he worked for Tweedy & Fowler, Frontier Refining Company, and Chevron in Denver. He continued working in the Law Department of Chevron in San Francisco, and retired in 1991 after a thirty-year career with the company. He is survived by his wife, Patsy, four children, and five grandchildren. Donations in Burch's memory may be made to the Grand Teton National Park Foundation, P.O. Box 249, Moose, WY 83012.

Stoddard White died on February 8, 2006. He was 82. A resident of the Denver area since 1930, White graduated from the University of Denver and earned his J.D. degree from the University of Denver College of Law. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he worked for Illinois California Express for twenty years, becoming president in 1961. He then spent eighteen years with Mountain States Bank, where he served as Senior Vice-President and head of the Trust Department. White was a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations. He was a past member of the Directors of Regis University and a past Commodore of the Grand Lakes Yacht Club, and he also served on the Colorado and Denver Chambers of Commerce. During his retirement, he worked to help preserve the water quality of Grand County's lakes. White is survived by his wife, Margaret, three children, and six grandchildren. Irwin L. Sandler died on February 27, 2006. He was 60. Sandler earned his J.D. degree from the University of Buffalo Law School. In addition to being a lawyer, Sandler worked for GS Partners, as well as Prestige Realty Group, where he was a realtor. He was a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Colorado Board of Realtors, and the AIPAC Colorado Council.
