Janet R.
Eaton
Attorney Janet R. Eaton died May 30, 2004. She was 57. Eaton was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated first in her law school class at the University of Cincinnati in 1975. Her first years as an attorney were spent working with the Cincinnati Legal Aid Society. She also worked as a family law attorney and mediator in Cincinnati. She was an adjunct professor at Northern Kentucky University and acted as general counsel for the Hamilton County Community Mental Health Board in Ohio. Eaton relocated to Colorado Springs where she practiced family mediation through the Fourth Judicial District Office of Dispute Resolution in Colorado Springs. She was a member of the CBA and El Paso County Bar Association ("EPCBA"). She participated in the CBA Family Law Section and chaired the EPCBA Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. She played an active role in the preparation of an ADR directory for EPCBA members. Eaton also was a trained classical singer and an accomplished photographer. Two of Eaton's photographs appear on the covers of The Colorado Lawyer - January 2003 and April 2004 Eaton is survived by her husband Jerry

Retired real estate attorney Ralph E. Hall, Jr. died June 13,
2004. He was 72. Hall graduated from University of Denver
College of Law in 1958. He was licensed to practice law in
Colorado in 1959. Hall had a private law practice in Denver
that spanned thirty years. He maintained CBA and Denver Bar
Association ("DBA") memberships throughout his
legal career. After his retirement in 1989, Hall relocated to
Santa Fe, New Mexico. Hall is survived by his wife Bobbi,
three daughters, and eight grandchildren.
Attorney William L. Rice died in July 2004. He was 91. Rice
was licensed to practice law in Colorado in 1938. He was an
Honor Life member of the CBA and DBA, having joined in 1939.
Throughout his legal career, Rice participated in the CBA
Criminal Law and Procedure Committee. He served as Committee
Chair from 1963 to 1966. He also was a member of the DBA
Judiciary Committee. Rice is survived by one son, two
grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
