CBA NEWS

Judicial Vacancies Listserv Replaces Postcards. If you, or another lawyer you know, has an inclination to be a judge the CBA has a new service just for you that is current and efficient. In the past, the CBA has mailed postcards announcing statewide judicial openings. The CBA will discontinue that practice after July 1, 2002. The reason for the change is time?there is very little of it between the announcement of the vacancy and the deadline for applications. The CBA Judicial Vacancies Listserv was created to serve CBA members more efficiently, and we encourage members to sign up. As soon as the Supreme Court informs the CBA of a vacancy, it will be e-mailed to everyone who has signed up for the listserv. To sign up, go to the CBA website at www.cobar.org. Click on "Member Resources," then "Legal Resources," then "CBA Listservs." You will find the Judicial Vacancies Listserv eighth on the alphabetical list. This is a free member service. Judicial vacancies also will continue to be posted on the CBA website under "Court Stuff."
