New Editor at The Colorado Lawyer: The CBA welcomes Lisa
Goldoftas as the new assistant editor at The Colorado Lawyer

Diversity Mentoring Reception: The University of Colorado
("CU") School of Law held a kick-off reception for
its "Minority Mentorship Program" in November 2001.
Approximately 100 minority law students from CU School of Law
and the University of Denver College of Law were paired with
mentors. More than eighty-six students and lawyer/judge
mentors attended the event, which was hosted by Holme Roberts
& Owen LLP. The Mentorship Program is partially funded by
a grant from the LexisNexis program entitled "Lawyers
For One America."

CBA SECTIONS AND COMMITTEES
The CBA International Law Committee will meet on February 20,
2002, at noon at the Denver Athletic Club, 1325 Glenarm
Place. David Weinstein is the featured speaker. Weinstein is
a Denver-based intellectual property lawyer whose practice
emphasizes trademark and copyright protection in the United
States and other countries. He will discuss the challenges
and joys he experienced while on short-term assignments to
write new trademark laws for Bulgaria and Egypt, as well as
his participation as a presenter on intellectual property
issues in Jordan, Botswana, Benin, and Tanzania. Program
attendees also will be told of opportunities for assignments
in foreign countries. To register for this program, fax your

The CBA Family Law Section newsletter reported that treasurer
Bonnie Schriner was unable to attend meetings because she has
been on call since September 11, 2001, to fly to Manhattan to
assist in the search and rescue efforts at the World Trade
Center with her certified search and...
