1998 INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF DEFENSE COUNSEL 71ST ANNUAL MEETING.

The 71st Annual Meeting of the International Association of Defense Counsel will be held over the dates of July 4 to 12 at the Sheraton Grande Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California.

There is an abundance of activities in La Jolla and San Diego to make this Meeting a wonderful opportunity for a family vacation. Special IADC hotel rates have been obtained for attendees. Additionally, children 17 years of age and under will be accommodated free when staying in the same room with their parents and using existing bedding. Baby cribs and rollaway beds will be provided at no charge. Once again, the Meeting has been scheduled to allow everyone to take advantage of lower airfares for a Saturday night stayover. The Closing General Session and the Annual Dinner-Dance will be held on Saturday, July 11.

Beginning on Monday, July 6, major CLE programs will feature such topics as recovery of attorneys' fees, the insurers' new cause of action for reimbursement of costs of defense, global economy and risk management, liabilities and litigation from commercial use of the internet, expert discovery and its impact on work product immunity and attorney/client privilege, and an Open Forum examining how to improve communication skills in trial by understanding how jurors process information.
