CBA NEWS
Student Membership: The CBA Membership Department is kicking
off the law student membership campaign by inviting CU and DU
law students to attend a CLE program on sports law on
November 5. Law student membership entitles law students to
receive The Colorado Lawyer, attend special social events and
practical skill seminars, and receive all the benefits
offered to attorney members of the CBA. Look for information
about future opportunities to help mentor these neophytes
into the practice
Convention Audiotapes: Are you facing a CLE credit shortage
Never fear! Audiotapes are available from many of the 1997
CBA Convention educational programs. See page 60 for a list
of the programs and for ordering information.
Bar Foundation Dinner: The Colorado Bar Foundation's
annual Bar Fellows dinner will be held on January 9, 1998, at
the Denver Marriott City Center. Contact Dana Vocate at the
CBA office for more details.
Western States Bar Conference: Pack those bags! The Western
States Bar Conference will be held on the Big Island of
Hawaii, February 18-21, 1998. This is a great opportunity for
bar leaders and executives to discuss issues facing bar
associations and the legal profession. Contact Dana Vocate at
the CBA office for more details.
CBA COMMITTEES AND SECTIONS
The CBA Law Education Committee's 1998 Mock Trial Case
will be the subject of workshops at the annual Educating for
Citizenship Conference on December 5 (location to be
announced). Attorney coaches have the opportunity to question
the developers of the case and pick up coaching tips. Call
Dave Ells at the CBA office for detailed information.
On November 5, the Gaming, Entertainment and Sports Forum
Committee and Continuing Legal Education in Colorado, Inc
("CLECI") will co-sponsor...
