CBA Staff Visits: The CBA staff has decided it is time to go
calling. We would like to visit local bar associations four
times a year. First would come the presidential visit; then
Michael Valdez would visit and discuss legislation; Mel
Reveles or Reba Nance would attend to talk about technology
issues; and Diane Hartman or Heather Baniszewski would like
to spruce up "image" and discuss how to work with
the media. If your local bar association is interested in any
of these topics, give the above-mentioned staff members a
call at the CBA office
CBA Convention: Committee members are chin-deep in the
planning process for the 1997 CBA Convention in August (which
celebrates the 100th anniversary of the CBA). Here are just a
few reasons to attend. Vincent Bugliosi (author of Helter
Skelter) will be the Thursday luncheon speaker. Convention
attendees will earn tons of CLE credit. There will be
seniors' and judges' breakfasts. We are also planning
a big birthday bash and private party at the Denver Zoo on
Saturday night. CBA members who live outside the Denver area
will want to bring the whole family. There is lots to do in
Denver: Elitch Gardens, the Children's Museum, shopping
at Cherry Creek, the new Park Meadows Mall, preseason
Broncos, and the Colorado Rockies. See you August 7-10
CBA Anniversary Display: The next time you visit the CBA
office, stop in the lobby to see our display focusing on the
100th anniversary of the CBA. The display showcases clippings
and photographs from our first 100 years. The display will be
updated throughout the year
CBA COMMITTEES AND SECTIONS
The Family Law Section continues to produce a weekly family
law column that appears in the "Spotlight" section
of the Rocky Mountain News on Mondays. The column always
gives credit to the attorney who wrote that week's
answer. Since the Rocky Mountain News no longer provides
delivery to the entire state, the columns are posted on the
CBA homepage at http:// www.cobar.org. Check it out.
