The Colorado Lawyer

Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary: November 1971 - November 1996

Thanks to all of the hundreds of members of the Colorado Bar Association who have written articles for the journal during the past twenty-five years. The Colorado Lawyer Board and Colorado Bar Association officers and staff appreciate your time, effort, expertise and cooperation throughout the years. You all know who you are--pat yourselves on the back for us!

The Colorado Lawyer began as a 6" x 9"-sized journal in November 1971. Before The Colorado Lawyer was published, the Colorado Bar Association distributed a mimeographed version of the reports of the Colorado Supreme Court and a newsletter and annual report. It was decided by the CBA Publications Committee that a small magazine might be helpful so that it would fit into a lawyer's suit pocket or purse and be easily readable while waiting for his or her turn in court. Since the first issue, there have been many special issues and "firsts." The following is a partial list of some of these memorable Colorado Lawyer issues.

The Board of Editors

The Colorado Lawyer Board of Editors has been the policy-making body for the journal since its inception. These volunteers have been incredibly dedicated and helpful. Without them, the journal could not function. The following members of the bar who have served on the Board should be commended:

Thomas Woodford, 1971-73

Bill Cantwell, 1971

Art Frazin, 1971-92
