Public disciplinary decisions involving issues that are not routine are summarized below, together with all private censures and selected admonishments. Occasionally, articles will appear in this space in lieu of summaries or with fewer of them.


Public Decisions

Patrick D. Williams: The court disbarred the respondent on February 1, 1993, effective immediately. He was ordered to pay restitution as a condition of readmission and assessed costs of $222.18.

Kathryn A. Schindelar: The court disbarred the respondent on February 1, 1993, effective immediately, and assessed costs of $2,631.85 against her.

In response to her argument that the Grievance Committee lacked jurisdiction over her, the court held that "(a) lawyer licensed to practice in Colorado who has not paid the required registration fee, or who has not satisfied continuing legal education requirements, is nevertheless subject to the jurisdiction of this court and its grievance committee for the attorney's failure to comply with the Code of Professional Responsibility. Moreover, an attorney who is a member of the bar of this state must answer for her misconduct even if the misconduct occurs in another jurisdiction."

Fred R. Lopez: The court publicly censured the respondent on February 8, 1993, and assessed costs of $887.73 against him.

John D. LaSalle: The court suspended the respondent on February 16, 1993, for thirty days, effective thirty days after the issuance of the court's opinion, and assessed costs of $567.54 against him.
