One Thousand Dollars!
Writing Prize Offered for Best Article
Submitted to Legal Malpractice Forum

A $1,000 prize will be awarded for the best article submitted for publication to the Legal Malpractice Forum. Shand, Morahan & Co., Inc., the underwriter for the bar-sponsored legal malpractice insurer, with the cooperation of their local agent, Warren & Sommer, Inc., has made this prize money available to encourage the professional practice of law in Colorado. It is hoped that the prize will reduce malpractice violations by generating interest in writing for and reading the column.

The contest will run from October 1, 1982, through September 30, 1983. Articles will be judged by special judges selected by The Colorado Lawyer Board of Editors. The winner will be announced within sixty days after the end of the contest final date. All articles submitted within the time limits of the contest are eligible for the prize, regardless of publication date.

Articles must be of a practical nature and can be in any legal specialty dealing with the prevention of legal malpractice and an understanding of and adherence to the Code of Professional Responsibility. Length should be between ten and fifteen doublespaced, letter size manuscript pages.
