The Tax Reform Bill of 1976 (HR 10612) seriously affects areas of Family Law Practice and requires re-education of lawyers in the tax aspects of a dissolution of marriage.

Marvin P. Johnson, CPA, addressed this topic when he spoke to the Family Law Section October 2, 1976, at the Bar Convention in Colorado Springs.

Listed below is an excerpt from Mr. Johnson's outline that can be used as a guide to the proper sections to consult in a Dissolution of Marriage or Legal Separation action. The list is by no means complete, but will give the practitioner a starting point through the jungle of the Tax Reform Act.
