In actions taken February 27, 1976, the Executive Council:

  1. Approved S.B. 64 concerning additional retirement annuities for retired judges who agree to perform temporary judicial duties as assigned by the Chief Justice for 60 working days each year after retirement.

  2. Recommended to the board of governors that it authorize payment of $50,000 to the Colorado Legal Care Society as a demand noninterest-bearing loan to cover administrative expenses during its first year of operation, of which $15,000 was immediately advanced by the executive council under authority granted by the board of governors on January 24, 1976 to carry CLCS until April 30, 1976.

  3. Requested that, prior to the April 24 board meeting, the CLCS board and staff prepare and submit to the executive council and board of governors a complete budget for its operational year May 1, 1976 to April 30, 1977, together with its best estimate of the amount of subsidy needed for administrative expenses to ensure success of the prepaid program during its first year of operation.

  4. Voted to take no position either in favor of or in opposition to H.B. 1004 providing for abolition of the certified shorthand reporters board.
