Proposed Legislation. Senator Gallagher has sponsored a bill concerning marital counseling which may spark heated controversy. It would require counseling of all persons who would marry before age 18 or would dissolve any marriage which involves children under the age of 16. The Family Law Section Council on reviewing this bill disliked its inflexibility (there are no exceptions permitted to the stipulations) and the fact that it does not include attorneys as suitable counselors under the bill. Watch for hearings on this measure.

ABA Family Law Section Report. The Colorado Section invites written critiques of the 1972 Colorado "no fault" dissolution law. These critiques will be presented to the ABA in August in Montreal. Comments are especially sought as to the effect of the law on property division, maintenance and custody.
