D. (§17.7) Civil and Criminal Penalties for Failure to Insure
The penalties for those convicted of violating § 287.128.7, RSMo 2016, are set out, in part, in the Criminal Code. For individuals, § 558.011.1, RSMo 2016, provides for imprisonment for up to one year for class A misdemeanors and up to four years for class E felonies. For individuals, § 558.002.1, RSMo 2016, provides for fines of up to $2,000 for class A misdemeanors and up to $10,000 for class E felonies. Corporations can be fined up to $10,000 for class A misdemeanors and up to $20,000 for class E felonies. Section 558.002.2.
