§14.5 STATE CONCILIATION SERVICE

§14.5-1 Purpose and Responsibility

The State Conciliation Service is established as part of the Employment Relations Board and is grounded in the policy that the promotion of collective bargaining best serves the public interest. ORS 662.415, 662.405. The service's stated primary responsibility is "fostering collective bargaining by rendering voluntary assistance to employers and employees in resolving their differences without resort to strikes, lockouts or other forms of conflict." ORS 662.415.
