§ 14-4 Defamation - Slander - Defined
An action for slander is based on the violation of a person's right to enjoy his good reputation, unimpaired by false and defamatory attacks. Slander is a spoken defamation. Slander consists of the publication of defamatory matter by spoken words, transitory gestures or by any form of communication other than those defined as part of libel.
