§ 14-10 Defamation - Public Official or Public Figure Plaintiff Must Prove Falsity of Defamatory Statement
When a libel action is brought by a "public official" or "public figure," the plaintiff must make an affirmative showing that the defamatory statement was false. A defamed "public official" or "public figure" must prove the falsity of the allegedly defamatory publication.
