12.5 Invasion of Privacy. Invasion of privacy is synonymous with unwanted publicity.⁵⁸ Arizona courts adopted the Restatement (Second) of Torts view and recognize four separate causes of action for “invasion of privacy”: ⁵⁹

(1) Intrusion upon the plaintiff’s seclusion or solitude, or into his private affairs;⁶⁰

(2) Public disclosure of embarrassing private facts about the plaintiff;⁶¹

(3) Publicity which places the plaintiff in a false light in the public eye;⁶² and

(4) Appropriation, for the defendant’s advantage, of the plaintiff’s name or likeness.⁶³
