§11.5 Nutrient Claims

A nutrient claim is ". . . any representation which states, suggest or implies that a food has particular nutritional properties including the energy value and the content of protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals."45 Nutrient claims are divided into:


• nutrient content claims;46
• comparative claim;47 and
• nutrient function claim.48
