Pollution of drainage water in Missouri has mostly been dealt with under the law of private nuisance. See, e.g.:

· Frank v. Envtl. Sanitation Mgmt., Inc., 687 S.W.2d 876 (Mo. banc 1985)

· Bower v. Hog Builders, Inc., 461 S.W.2d 784 (Mo. 1970)

· Clark v. City of Springfield, 241 S.W.2d 100 (Mo. App. S.D. 1951), abrogated in part by Bettinger v. City of Springfield, 158 S.W.3d 814 (Mo. App. S.D. 2005)
