10-12 SAMPLE RETAINER AGREEMENT

RETAINER AGREEMENT

Retainer Agreement. I, [client name], (the "Client"), have this date retained [attorney name] (the "Attorney") to represent me in my [type of case] case in [county] County, Arkansas. I understand that this Agreement constitutes a binding legal contract and should be reviewed carefully. I understand and agree to abide by all the following provisions.

Power of Attorney. I am retaining the Attorney to represent me in the above negotiations and proceedings. I authorize the Attorney to take any steps which, in [his/her] sole discretion, are deemed reasonably necessary or appropriate to protect my interests in this matter.

Appeals. I understand that the Attorney is not agreeing to be my attorney if my case needs to be appealed to a higher court. [His/Her] duties as my attorney in this case will end upon the entry of a final order or decree.

Legal Fees. [I agree to pay the Attorney an initial retainer of $[initial retainer amount] to begin work on my case.
