10.12 ACCORD AND SATISFACTION

When a person has been charged with assault and battery or another misdemeanor for which there is a civil remedy, the injured party and the accused are permitted by statute to reach an agreement to dismiss the charge if the court also agrees. ³⁵⁶ The person accused is responsible for any costs of the proceeding that have accrued.
