10.12 ACCORD AND SATISFACTION

When a person has been charged with assault and battery or another misdemeanor for which there is a civil remedy, the injured party and the accused are permitted by statute to reach an agreement to dismiss the charge if the court also agrees. 356 The person accused is responsible for any costs of the proceeding that have accrued.
