§ 1.5 Fees. A.R.S. § 12-120.31 states that the court of appeals shall charge the same fees as the supreme court. Although this generally holds true, in practice there are some minor variations. See Fee Schedule § 1.6. Unless otherwise specified, the fees listed in that schedule are payable to the clerk of the appellate court in which the appeal is pending or from which special action relief is being requested. A party or counsel filing electronically will make payment electronically. Otherwise, a party or counsel must pay fees in cash, money order or cashier's check. Tender of a client’s personal check for payment of fees should be avoided.

Only one filing fee is charged when more than one appellant or appellee are represented by the same counsel. A.R.S. § 12-304 exempts the state, county, political subdivisions and a public official sued in his official capacity from payment...
