§ 1.3.4 Difficulty of Administration. An injunction will be denied if the resulting order would be difficult to administer. Refrigeration Engineering Corp. v. Frick Co., 370 F. Supp. 702 (W.D. Tex. 1974) ; Harman v. City & County of San Francisco, 7 Cal. 3d 150, 101 Cal. Rptr. 880, 496 P.2d 1248 (1972) (courts cannot formulate decrees that involve exercise of indefinable discretion). A court will refrain from issuing an injunctive order, violation of which will be impossible to ascertain. Hamilton v. McDonald, 503 F.2d 1138 (9th Cir. 1974) . A court also may refuse to order an act in a distant forum because of the difficulty of enforcement. 11A Wright & Miller §2945 .
