§ 6.12.3 Potential Mooting of Juvenile Appeal. A case becomes moot when an event occurs that renders the relief sought on appeal either impossible or without practical effect on the parties. See Sandblom v. Corbin, 125 Ariz. 178, 182, 608 P.2d 317, 321 (App. 1980); see also Mueller v. City of Phoenix ex rel. Phoenix Bd. of Adjustment II, 102 Ariz. 575, 583, 435 P.2d 472, 480 (1967) (“moot” issue is one that is abstract and does not arise from existing facts or rights).
