§ 5.6 Procedure
The procedure for filing a motion for sanctions under Rule 11 is new. First, a complaining party must try to resolve the matter through a good faith consultation. See Ariz. R. Civ. P. 7.1(h). As with discovery disputes and other situations requiring good faith consultation between parties, the consultation requirement can only be met by speaking in person on by telephone, as opposed to exchanging letters or emails.
