§ 5.4.8 The Amount of a Sanction Under A.R.S. § 12-349
The amount of sanctions must bear a reasonable relationship to the extent of the sanctionable misconduct. Thus, for example, misconduct regarding discrete, peripheral issues will not justify an award in the amount of the adversary's entire attorneys' fees. Bennett v. Baxter Group, Inc., 223 Ariz. 414, 422, ¶ 34, 224 P.3d 230, 238 (App. 2010).
