§ 32-27 Products Liability - Manufacturer's Duty to Inspect and Test Component Parts and Materials

Manufacturers have a general duty to test and inspect their products. A manufacturer who uses in his product any [component part] [material] manufactured by another is under a duty to make such inspections and tests of the [component part] [material] as a reasonably careful manufacturer in his business should recognize as necessary to secure a finished product reasonably safe for its intended use. The duty to inspect and test exists even though the [component part] [material] was obtained from a reputable [producer] [manufacturer].
