§ 3.1 INTRODUCTION

Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure 4, 5, and 6 govern the extent of an Oregon court's jurisdiction over persons, things, and status.

NOTE: Rules 4, 5, and 6 are closely patterned after Wisconsin Statutes sections 801.05 to 801.07, adopted in 1959. See State ex rel. Hydraulic Servocontrols Corp. v. Dale, 294 Or 381, 384 n 3, 657 P2d 211 (1982). Alaska has also adopted the Wisconsin statutes in large part (Alaska Stat § 9.05.015), as has North Carolina (NC Gen Stat § 1-75.4).
