§ 10.04 IN GENERAL

As we saw in the last section, a proponent offering a statement as the admission of a party-opponent need not establish the reliability of the statement or any necessity to resort to the statement. In contrast, many hearsay exceptions require a showing of reliability. These exceptions fall into two categories.
