§ 1.2.7.5 Recognition of a Claim for Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress in Employment. The supreme court held in Ford v. Revlon, Inc.⁸⁹ that an employer could be independently liable to an at-will employee for intentional infliction of emotional distress if the employer failed to take adequate steps to stop sexual harassment of an employee, without regard to the employment status of the employee.
