Most policies specify the date and time that coverage under the policy incepts. For example, the Declarations for a commercial general liability policy may state:
Policy Period: From 11/23/2014 to 11/23/2015 at 12:01 A.M. Standard Time at your mailing address shown above.
A homeowner's policy may state, for example:
