Clyde Logan, 54, was a maintenance worker at the Triumph Foods pork processing plant in St. Joseph. The Dupps Co. designed and installed the equipment in the plant.

Verdicts & Settlements December 21, 2009: No Damages Awarded to Employee Who Lost Arm

Logan tried to clear a jam caused by tramp metal in a vertical screw conveyor auger on April 3, 2006. He removed an access panel at the base of the vertical screw.

While his arm was inside the conveyer, the auger started and severed his right arm below his elbow. Consequently Logan, who is right-handed, now requires a body-powered prosthetic and a myoelectric prosthetic arm....
