With "lose weight and get fit" being *both the most popular and commonly broken New Year's resolution, and the level of inactivity among Americans aged six and older increasing from 27.6% to 28.3% in the past year, the personal finance website WalletHub conducted an analysis of the Best & Worst Cities for an Active Lifestyle.

To identify the cities that encourage balancing a healthy diet with ample physical activity, WalletHub compared the 100 most-populated U.S. cities across 24 key metrics. The data set ranges from the average monthly fitness club fee to the number of swimming pools per capita to the number of parkland acres per capila.

The best cities, starting at the top, are Scottsdale, Ariz.; Orlando, Fla.; Tampa, Fla.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Pittsburgh, Pa.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Tucson, Ariz.; Boise, Idaho; Henderson, Nev.; and Madison, Wis.

The worst cities, begnning at the bottom, are Lardeo, Texas; Irving, Texas; Jersey City, N.J.; New York, N.Y.; North Las Vegas, Nev.; Memphis, Tenn.; Fort Worth, Texas; Newark, N.J.; Columbus, Ohio; and Hialeah, Fla.
