Get off the sidelines and into the action--volunteer!(Involvement)

Get more out of your membership by getting involved with The Ohio Society of CPAs. Have a great experience with your peers, meet potential new clients or customers and expand your network while working to benefit the profession and/or the community.

The Society offers many different volunteer opportunities that you can tailor to your schedule and interests. Which of the opportunities below best fits you?

CPA TO CPA PROGRAM

The CPA to CPA program connects members with each other for limited peer-to-peer advice or counsel. Provided at no charge, this program enables members to receive a one-time, quick answer to a question from a colleague who has experience in a specific area of practice. All services are entirely confidential. To get involved, contact CPAnswers@ohio-cpa.com.

SPEAKERS BUREAU

CPAs need to tell the profession's story and discuss the critical financial issues facing Ohioans. As a member of The Ohio Society of CPAs, you can help strengthen the reputation of CPAs in Ohio at a grassroots level. The Society's Speakers Bureau serves as a direct link between CPAs and their communities. The time commitment required for volunteers is flexible. When the Society receives a speaker request that matches your preferences, we will determine if you are available and willing to speak to that group. The Society also provides training and talking points. To get involved, contact Amy Johnson, senior manager, public relations, at ajohnson@ohio-cpa.com or 800.686.2727, ext. 341.

SPECIAL INTEREST SECTION LEADER

The Society has 16 Special Interest Sections offering discussion and resources targeted to specific areas of practice. Special Interest Section Leaders provide Society staff with feedback on content in the section newsletters, webinars and other program offerings. They also provide guidance on relevant topics, enhancements to section services and ways to increase the benefits provided to section members. Find out more about the Special Interest Sections on page 48.
